Vs. Texas A&M Recap
Final Score:
73-64 Husky win (8-2)
Summary:
The Huskies were able to hang with A&M through the first half despite Isaiah Thomas struggling. He didn't score at all in the first half and really didn't get on track in the second either. Yet again, Quincy Pondexter was the team's rock and was the best player on the floor for either team from buzzer to buzzer. The game remained close until Derrick Roland suffered a horrendous leg injury, which delayed the game for around 10 minutes and had both teams shaken. The Huskies however were the beneficiaries, as A&M players were off their game after that point and UW was able to pull away.
Player of the Game:
Q-Pon. Game high 25 points. Game high 7 defensive rebounds. Game high 6 offensive rebounds. Game high 3 blocks.
It Was Over When:
The Aggies had closed to within 5, then Venoy Overton hit 5/6 free throws while the Husky D didn't allow A&M to score until the game was out of reach.
Stat of the Game:
Scott Suggs was 2/3 from long range. The rest of the team was 0/9

Overton
making the free throws was huge. A & M looked a little stunned that he hit them because his FT percentage isn’t that high. It seemed to me that their plan was to foul him.
This is Quincy’s team – will only go as far as Quincy can carry it – I think he needs to assert himself more.
25 points, 13 rebounds 3 blocks, and being a vocal locker room presence isn't asserting himself?
I don’t know what more you expect from him.
