Bulletin Board Material
Just wanted to post a quick note that once again we will be doing the time honered tradition of trashing our opponent in the Apple Cup by resorting to the usual childish material I pull out of the closet each year for the game.
To my friends over at Coug Center I apologize in advance.I think the exchange of jokes and ribbing are just as important to this deal as a Turkey at Thanksgiving.
Lets start off with some new stuff supplied by the current squad via Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.
There wasn't a lot of trash talking at today's Apple Cup press luncheon, but Kavario Middleton lobbed one salvo at the Cougars when he said the Huskies plan to score at least 50 points against WSU Saturday.
You can see the clip for yourself courtesy of Q13 Fox in Seattle.
Middleton didn't back down when asked later about his comment, saying that "we want to put up 50 points, run the score up, put on a show. We're just trying to make a statement that we are the real deal.''
"When they are down, we want to keep them down, push them lower,'' Middleton said. "Make it known we are going to be reckoned with.''
It will be interesting to see how Sarkisian handles this one. Coaches in general don't like trash talk before games. They prefer to let the team do the talking with performance on the field. I for one think it is nice to see the players show any type of emotion at this stage of the season. Washington is playing for nothing more than respect in this one after the loss to Oregon State. I don't see anything wrong with a little bit of braggadicio as they call it going into this one.
Chances are you have heard the last word from Kavario till Saturday night.

he needs to back this up with some catches in the Apple Cup.
He seems to have disappeared lately
Coug Joke
So Mike Price dies and goes to heaven. God meets him at the Pearly Gates and welcomes him. “Welcome Mike! You’ve been faithful to me and a good man (other than that little fling you had down south after you took the Alabama job!) and I want to reward you.” God leads Mike up to a nice little rambler all decked out in cougar, crimson and gray. God is smiling and looking at Mike to see his joyful celebration! Instead Mike looks downright disappointed, like a kid that found a lump of coal in his stocking instead of that brand new bicycle he was expecting. “Mike what’s wrong!?” God asks. “Well God, I don’t want to sound unappreciative but why is my house so small!? Don James has that huge Purple and Gold palace up on the hill and I don’t think that’s fair!?” God just looks at Mike with disbelief and then finally replies, “Mike that’s not Don James place, that’s mine!”

"We are the real deal"
Yeah baby, 3-7 real! WOOOO!
Man, this is why so many Cougars think the Huskies are arrogant. Geez.
Mind you, I’m not arguing that UW can’t win by 50. I’m just saying that if it happens it doesn’t mean UW is good.
Hey It's Just...
…one 19 year old talking. Kind of like other Huskies and Cougs from the past. Personally I love it! This thing needs some smack talk to pump some life into it! Somehow I don’t think you guys are going to say ANYTHING though!

Yeah, I know
It just doesn’t feel as much like trash talk to me the last few years when one or both teams are bad. More like Robert DeNiro pumping himself up at the end of Raging Bull.. I’m the Boss.

We are the "real deal"
Can’t you tell, we’ve won three whole games!!! Last year we didn’t we any, so obviously we are the “real deal” now that we have
“real deal” coaches!! In case you are wondering, I’m being sarcastic!
I agree with dawgfan, he’s a young kid running his mouth. I like the emotion, but would prefer it wasn’t bulletin board material for the cougs. My biggest concern this week is that we “coug it”, just like we did last year!

Well Johnny
You are welcome as all Cougs are to throw some barbs out this week. We did it during Oregon week and it seemed to work out fine.
Is UW good?
3-7 despite a series of close losses that could have gone the other way it isn’t good.

A few oldies but goodies . . .
Q: What’s the difference between a dead skunk on the road and a dead cougar on the road?
A: There are skid marks in front of the skunk.
Q: Why wasn’t Jesus born in Pullman?
A: Because God couldn’t find three wise men, much less a virgin.
