Around SBN: Will Rhymes 'Fine' After Being Hit By Pitch And Fainting

Get Registered

1500 to 2500 Husky fans visit this site daily but we only have around 300 registered members. I am not complaining because when we started three years ago we only had three members and I was one of them. Special thanks to Prrbrr and Hair of the Dawg who were the original members and posters.

It only takes less than a minute to register and then you will be able to post on the site which makes it all the more interesting and interactive for everyone.

Come join us and make this site the focus of intelligent conversation about Husky football.

Does that number include one person logging in multiple times because I literally log in at least 20 + times a day…

Either way Great Site and Great Conversations! Thanks to John and everyone else who helps make this my favorite site.

Good question

I check here a few times a day myself and at Dawgman too but I don’t keep a tab open for either. I think once you log in you stay logged in all day.

Your IP address is tracked

Your IP is tracked so even if you visit 100 times per day it counts as one visit from that computer. If you use multipe computers/ devices then it counts as one for each that you use.

If I reset my router, does that change anything?

No, I’m not The Maharg but thanks for thinking of me so highly.

by Maharg on Jan 21, 2009 3:42 PM PST up reply actions

Probably

Perhaps….if it changes you IP address.

Ditto that!

Thanks John, some of those other sites have so many people on them and so many posts it gets crazy

Setting the tone

One thing that sets the tone is I write most of the articles and have control over what to bring to the front page from fan post.

This format if led correctly leads to a better brand of conversation IMHO.

Traditional message boards on the other hand are a different animal.

So what we have with this site is something that is truly dofferent and a good companion to whatever scouting service you happen to subscribe to.

SBN

The benefit to registering, even if you don’t post, is that you get access to the cool SBN features that let you mark comments as read, which makes it much easier to plow through the comment threads. It also shows you when there are new comments in posts you’ve already read, and lets you jump right to them. High-tech stuff!

Old dawg still learning

I guess I should read some of the instructions in order to take advantage of the features mentioned above. I’m curious about the multiple logons in a day also.

I found this site about a year ago. I’m not even sure I knew about the comments. Eventually, I found the comments, and later started adding my own. I use this site to get to BobC on the Times. I also enjoy his postings, but the comments make me feel like I just turned on the View. Thank you, fellow posters, for your reasonable comments.

you ask and you shall recieve

John, been reading the blog for nearly a year now. not much of a commenter/poster, but really appreciate the effort and information you provide.

cool stuff

I did my part – enjoy what you do John. Keep it up.

I was already a member...

of a different blog here as SBN, but I remember how pumped I was that my passion would finally have an outlet here. The format is great, and John, you truly do great work. I love your insight and the passion that everybody here shares with me.

However, you need to bug the higher ups at SBN to figure out mobile commenting. 90% of the hits I give this website are from my blackberry and I cannot comment. I would love to talk more with all of you and get all the pent up Dawg energy I have, out (my family is a bunch of Ducks).

Good luck in 2009 John, keep up the good work.

Mobile

Mobile would help me a lot to because when I am at a game in person I cant log on to write a story or make a comment using my handheld.

The powers that be are actually working on a mobile solutions so we can write and comment from our smart phones.

You can read currently just fine on mobile, just cant comment.

I'm a member of this blog!

Even though I’m Cal fan. But I live in Seattle near UW so I like to stay up to date on UW.

No, I’m not The Maharg but thanks for thinking of me so highly.

Great Job, Great Blog!

I think mobile comments would be great for next season. We could comment from the game, about the game, it could be a great feature. maybe make it so a registered user has to earn that right so you can keep it positive and productive.

I read often and post once in awhile

The great thing here is the lack of disrespectful types who seem to need to name call and put down rather than contribute.
John, you are the best Dawg reporter I read, Condotta is a close second. John writes in depth, and is usually right on. Thanks for the great coverage.
