Huskies beat Ducks 84-67
If you want to be dancing in March you have to win games like this one. Washington did that tonight in Eugene beating Oregon 84-67 to win their second road game in Pac 10 play this season. UW improves to 12-4 overall and 3-1 in Pac-10 play.
Washington went in to intermission with a three point lead after Oregon scored the last five points of the half. Washington took over in the second stanza and never were seriously challenged.
The Huskies were led by Isaiah Thomas with 23 and Justin Dentmon with 22 points who scored 15 in the second half. Quincy Pondexter had a solid game contributing 15 and Jon Brockman chipped in 10. Brockman set the all time rebounding record with 10 rebounds despite spending a lot of time on the bench in the second half with four fouls.

Brockman
According to Rondo he had 10 rebounds, getting 2 down the stretch so it should be safe to assume he got at least 9.
Great Win!
It bothers me that nobody has this team top 25…they have 4 losses, 3 to ranked teams (at least ranked when they played them) and two losses (Florida and Cal) by a combined 5 points. This is a good team. Hopefully when they beat the Beav’s people will start to open their eyes…
bigdave - the question is consistency
it seems like they roll when they get consistency in two areas:
1. Quincy contributing offense
2. Dentmon providing a consistent deep threat
To get into that top 25 range, we need to get these contributions to complement the existing identity of the team (strong rebounding, full court defense, poor free throw shooting)
"Greed is Good."
So is Rudy.
Great Win and loving it!
…it’s a shame that living in the NW and watching FSNorthwest that we can’t watch this game! What are those guys smoking down there! If one game would have been moved up or back an hour we could have watched both of them. Why does the braintrust (an oxymoron!) think that we in the Northwest would rather watch big12 games or ucla vs anybody else!? I don’t get it! It must be a Pac-10 thing which STILL makes no sense!
Q
I agree with Gekko in his area No.1. Q is going to be the key to the season. We saw what transpired during the Cal game, which by the way the better team lost. Qunicy has to be productive in critical stretches, especially when Brockman is getting a blow or in foul trouble.
We’ve got kids that can score from the perimeter, but we need two low post players to be offensively productive. Brockman will get his 16 to 20 points on most occasions. But when Brock goes out that leaves Q in there. If he can’t produce then surely the opponent will attempt to shut down the perimeter. So in order to keep the wolves away from our guards when Brock is out- Q has to step up!
One way to get Q involved with the offense early is to run a few half court sets for him. The kid loves to go to the foul line and is one of our better free throw shooters. When a team struggles to shoot free throws it would be wise to send your very best aces to the line- Q is one of those guys. We need at least 10 points per game from Pondexter, which will also not allow the opponent to double up on Brockman.
