EJ Returning?

Ty Willingham said today at the Pac Ten press conference that there were s ome new developments concerning LB EJ Savannah. He said there possibly would be an announcement on his status with the team later today.

Savannah, the team's leading tackler from 2007, has been away from the team because of academic issues and, though it has not been made official, disciplinary actions.

Savannah is also recovering from a broken humerous, apparently suffered while arm-wrestling this spring. He was scheduled to return from the injury this week had he been academically eligible. EJ told the staff at Dawgman last week that he was academically eligible.

Will EJ be on the practice field today?

How many reps if any can he play against Oklahoma?

I don't know how his arm is holding up

I’d be thrilled if they can get him into one personnel grouping by Saturday to get his sea legs back. Then unleash the all-systems-go E.J. after the bye week. This defense could really use the energy of a playmaker out there.

I remember watching the ’07 highlight video that was running on gohuskies.com a couple weeks ago; seemed like the defensive highlights were about 50% E.J., 25% Mesphin Forrester, and 25% everyone else.

I think we need to throw him in now

I’d like them to put him in on the first series Saturday. Get a couple of drives in and see how he performs. A broken humerous isn’t really a nagging injury, once it’s healed it’s pretty much a done deal. Hopefully he has kept himself in playing shape as well.

More importantly John, can you speculate on why EJ might be under disciplinary actions. Ty’s not talking and it worries me.

EJ

EJ can make a big difference on this defense.

I know he won’t start, but I bet he gets some quality time if he is back on the roster.

Well, crap

E.J. asked to be released so he can transfer, according to Condotta’s blog.

Well, crap, there goes our best defensive player.

Just another reason to fire TW.

Crap. We needed that guy. He could tackle. F*ck the stupid blame-game this time. This sucks for our team.
