Are you getting numb?
Greg Johns hit a familar cord today in his article in the Seattle PI.
How many of you are numb out there?
But the anger has slowly turned to numb disbelief for UW fans. Somber seems to have replaced surprise. Nobody seems stunned anymore that the Beavers can come into Husky Stadium and have their way, given OSU's winning streak now stands at five over Washington.
I have to tell you that I am certainly becoming unemotional about the Huskies. The reign of Willingham has sucked a lot of spirit out of me. What makes it a little worse is trying to come up with something that isn't too negative each day. Sometimes I do it, sometimes it doesn't happen, but that seems to be the main challenge I have now when it comes to blogging daily about the team.

Yep, I'm numb!
I have reached an all new low. I now find it really easy to watch the Huskies. I can honestly say I enjoy going to and watching the games. When you expect your team to stand absolutely no chance at winning, you can enjoy football for football., with out being overly concerned about winning. I can’t wait to care again!
That’s saying something for me, I was once described as “Super-Hyper-Competitive”.
"Bow Down to Washington"
"Kick the tires and light the fires!"
Me too..
I’m only going for the tailgates.
Honestly I’d rather go fishing, I lost a nice salmon yesterday over on the Wishkah. That was more disappointing than watching the Dawgs lose Saturday. I expected the Dawgs to lose, I didn’t expect to lose the fish.
gorgedawg (Mike) has been riding up to the games with us this year and if the fish are biting late in the week he’ll be in his boat. I’ll be at the game because my Sis is up for her annual trip to HS otherwise I could easily be on the river with Mike.
If by numb you mean...
that I no longer let the Huskies winning or losing ruin my Sunday, then yes, I am numb. Our group has no started playing UW Husky Football bingo during the games to keep it lighthearted – instead of bingo numbers we have categories such as:
Margin of victory (Points)
Number of offsides, delay games, etc.
Interceptions
Sacks
Number of bad T.O. calls by Ty
Stanford was the low point
I’m numb, but recovering. I’m finding it easier and easier to focus on B-Ball and what could be with our team next year. It’s also making it easier for me to watch these games as my expectations are much, much lower. Its a nice position to be in because I now have the capacity to feel joy if they happen to win one with not much risk of feeling anger or resentment if they lose them.
The Apple Cup is the only game left on the schedule that could possibly disappoint me.
